I really don't like my job very much, but it is a stable source of income that I am afraid to give up in order to pursue something that I enjoy more. I know that I can't make the kind of money that I want to make by working there, but I feel stuck. Do you have any ideas?

Answer: Jamie,
Your situation is certainly not unique, and I hope that a lot of people get to read this answer. People have jobs that they don't truly enjoy doing, yet they stay for financial reasons, benefits, fear of change, etc.
When someone says to me, "I really like my job", I immediately ask them, "Would you do it for free"? You can imagine the range of confused or emphatic responses that I get when I ask that question!
Most people are brought up to believe that they have to "get a good education, get a good job, and raise a family". There is nothing wrong with doing each of those things, but it is the definition of "good" that is actually in question.
In order to get an education or a job, we tend to gravitate towards things that we have some sort of a proficiency in. Most of us were taught this in school. We took some sort of a test or an evaluation to determine what we were good at or what we had a tendency towards, and then we were told to head in that direction for our education and our careers.
That is one of the most ridiculous things that I've ever heard!
Why would you do something just because you were good at it? You should be doing what you WANT to do, not what you CAN do. Always remember that we are not on this planet in human form to "do something". We are supposed to enjoy our lives, not perform some task.
So, in answer to your question, my advice would be for you to stop thinking about finances, benefits, or any other reason why you are staying at your present job and ask yourself this very simple question:
If you could do anything at all in the world that you enjoyed so much that you would do it even if you weren't getting paid, what would that thing be?
Once you have answered that question, then find a career in that arena, or, if one doesn't exist, then CREATE one! If you work in an arena that you are excited and motivated about, then you will never actually "work" another day in your life!
So, decide what you actually want to do, set a very specific set of goals that will allow you to do that within a very specific amount of time, and then make it happen.
Be sure to be very specific with what you want. Exactly what type of work will you be doing? Exactly how much money are you going to make? Exactly what will your "typical" work day look like?
When you think of your goal, be sure to FEEL what it will feel like to have it. Think of it in the PRESENT tense, not in the future. If you think of it as being in the future, then the Law of Attraction will ensure that it stays in the future!
Think of your goal every day, all day long. Visualize what your life will be like when you have that goal. Act as if that goal has already been attained, and before you know it, that is exactly what will happen.
Believe in YOURSELF, Jamie, not in the system or the circumstances that have landed you where you are right now. Your destiny is in your control! Anyone who tells you different is simply uninformed about our roles as the Creators of our existence, or they are afraid to let go of the reigns of a lifestyle that is quickly becoming a thing of the past as people like you become enlightened about the truth!
