Email hiccups and time away

The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich

I just got back from about 2 1/2 days away from my computer, and it turns out that my email server went down just a few hours into my time off.

MANY thanks to Shama over at ShamaHyder.com for going out of her way to call me on the phone to tell me about the problem. Shama, you totally rock, and I greatly appreciate your call!

I did not get access to the technical toys that I needed to fix the problem until today, April 2nd, around 9:30am EST, but my email is now back up and running.

If you sent me an email between Saturday, March 31st, and Monday, April 2, 2007, I DID NOT GET IT, so please resend your message.

That includes submissions for the new Doing it Differently Blog Carnival, since those submissions are sent directly to my email. Erek, Caroline, and Karen - I DO have your submissions. Anyone else who has submitted to the carnival, please resubmit your entries by clicking here.

Also, due to my time away, I am about 30 comments behind on both the Simply Successful Secrets program, as well as comments that need to be moderated/responded to here on the blog.

If you submitted a comment or wrote a blog post that was your entry in the Simply Successful Secrets project, I will be getting all comments moderated shortly, as well as swinging by your blog to give you a personal thanks and a virtual High Five for participating in the project.

I appreciate everyone's patience as I tend to the recent technical difficulties, as well as relishing in the memories of the last few days that I spent with my wife and some of my closest friends on the Gulf Coast.

I will be back to my (ahem) workaholic tendencies soon, so keep an eye out for moderated comments, comments on the many blogs that I frequent as well as those who took part in the Simply Successful Secrets project, and I will also get a new blog post up here at Today is that Day.

The subject of the newest post is going to be Fear, and I will be looking at how it affects us in ways that are not very obvious. Stay tuned, and thanks again for your patience!

The Site Redesign is Done!

Well, it took me longer than expected, but I'm proud to say that the snazzy new design that you are looking at is finally complete!

Since I just finished it at 2:00am here on the east coast of the U.S., I didn't have time to beat the crap out of it to make 100% sure that everything is absolutely perfect, but I'm pretty sure that I worked out all of the kinks.

Edward over at Evolving Times was kind enough to let me know that there is a small glitch with the search functionality, and I did look into that.

The search is working, but when you click on the results, WordPress is tossing up some funky code that is beyond my present mental state to re-engineer. MANY thanks to Edward for letting me, however, and I promise to get it fixed soon.

However, on that note, I want to let everyone know that I will be out of the loop for the next few days while I take a family trip.

I will do my best to check in from the road, but if I don't get the chance to do that, I will play catch up on email as well as comment moderation as soon as I get back.

In the meantime, please enjoy the new look, and also please let me know your thoughts!

Leave a comment or send me an email about what you like/don't like, any glitches that you find, etc.

Also, if you are looking for a new design for your own blog, be sure to show the love to Bartleme Design who masterminded the shell that I used for this site, and to iLemoned, who converted it to a WordPress theme.

Okay, that's it for me. Stay empowered and happy as I take a few days off, and thank you, as always, for being a reader of this blog.

If it weren't for you, this site wouldn't exist!

Happy Trails!  Smile

Self Empowerment, Self Improvement, and the Law of Attraction

Mental Meltdown: Weight Loss Begins in the Mind!

Welcome to the first of what will ultimately be a veritable warehouse of messages about how to empower your life, improve your circumstances, and invoke the universal power of the Law of Attraction in order to find your personal definition of happiness!

The purpose of this blog is to provide a free and easy to use system for people to learn how to make their lives what they want them to be by learning about how things truly work in the universe.

Most of us have been brought up in an environment where we were taught and/or surrounded by people who might not have had the true answers that we seek today. As of the writing of this post - September 22, 2006 - we are only a generation or two into an era of humanity that will shape our futures in a much more fundamental way than the “brick and mortar” version that past generations have seen.

We are now beginning to understand that the power of our minds (for lack of a more detailed explanation at this point) is even more powerful than the world around us. In fact, the world around us is only there because of the power of the human mind. With no thought, there can be no creation. The sooner you embrace the fact that you are walking around with cosmic power at your fingertips, the sooner you will start to learn how to wield that power for your own good, as well as the good of humanity as a whole.

There are many concepts, teachings, and points of view that go into learning how to be “enlightened” so that you can truly embrace freedom and happiness on this earth. I will cover many of those things here on this blog, and many others as well.

Although my primary course of study and understanding is presently in the effective utilization of the Law of Attraction, I have no doubt that other well known - and not so well known - practices and beliefs will also be gracing my life, as well as these pages.

You, the reader, need only come by here as often as you like in order to learn and also share your own opinion on these matters. This resource is here for you, and I intend to make it as valuable as possible so that you will come here frequently to expand your awareness, and share your thoughts.

This blog is part of the web presence that I have at http://www.todayisthatday.com, and you will find similar teachings and resources there.

Another thing that will separate this blog from my main site is the content. You will see references to articles that I have written, which I do encourage you to check out, although I will not be posting articles here on the blog. For one, the articles are already housed on the main site, and you are encouraged to go there and sign up for the free newsletter so that you can receive notification about that content. However, the real difference between those articles and the postings on this blog will be the nature of the material.

Although the concepts will remain the same, and all information will be geared towards educating and helping people, articles are very “official”. They are not written from the first person perspective, and they tend to need to “work for everyone”. There is nothing wrong with that, and I write at least one new article each week.

However, the type of content to be found here on the blog will be much more personable. It will not be a day to day recount of my life, as I recognize that my personal details will mean very little to you. However, the words on these pages will come from a much more down to earth perspective.

I will use examples from my own life as well as the lives of the people that I help and come into contact with. I will use these real life circumstances as examples of how to apply some of the concepts of self improvement and self empowerment that you will learn about on these pages.

There is real value in learning how to apply these concepts to your day to day life by learning how others have done the same, and that is what you can expect to find here on this blog.

I make no promises about how often I will post information for you, as that will depend on how often I am inspired to do so by witnessing or experiencing something that you may find valuable. I will not mindlessly make up things to talk about just to fill pages. If I take the time to write it down, you can rest assured that it will be of some value to you, and worth you taking a few minutes to check out.

As with most of the present day blogs, I have provided plenty of ways for you to subscribe so that you do not miss anything. The links - or chicklets, as some call them - in the right column can be used to subscribe to this blog with your favorite system.

You will also notice a very complete line of social bookmarking links at the bottom of each and every post, and I certainly encourage you to bookmark anything on this blog that you find of value. Whether you want to personally refer back to it, or if you want to help yourself by also helping others (a concept you will hear more about), then bookmark any of the pages of this blog so that others can take advantage of the information that you have come across during your web travels.

So, I think that about wraps it up for the “official” introduction, and I will leave you with the parting statement that I believe in my heart to be true, and I have made it a part of the message that I am giving to the world:

YOU are in charge of your life, and don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

Chow for now, and peace.

Cross Body Blocking your Attitude with the Law of Attraction

Did you ever get in your OWN way? You know - those times when no matter how hard you try, everything goes south, and at the end of the day, you look back and realize that a large portion of it was your own fault?

Yeah, I hate those days. And I used to have them all the time. Until I learned about the Law of Attraction, that is.

Basically what happens with the Law of Attraction is that by the nature of your thoughts and your feelings, you attract into your life those very things, or things very similar. So, if you feel like you’re having a bad day, guess what? You’re right! And you are the catalyst for the entire process.

The good news is that just like you are the spark that lights the fire of those bad days, you are also the fire extinguisher that can put them out! It is done by your own conscious awareness of your state of mind. Your ability to decide to think and feel things that will be of benefit to you is available every single minute of every single day for your entire time here on Earth.

There are circumstances - that I encourage wholeheartedly - when you can use the power of the Law of Attraction to bring large amounts of happiness and success into your life. I strongly urge you to read some of my articles on the Law of Attraction in order to do exactly that. However, this post isn’t about attaining long-term success, but rather about how to use the Law of Attraction to handle the day to day trials and tribulations that we all have to deal with.

Here is a situation that I recently experienced where the Law of Attraction came to my rescue. I’m sure you will recognize where this same type of situation could happen to you, or maybe already has:

Awhile back I had made a commitment to someone to do some work for them, although the individual in question took quite a bit longer than I had expected before she was ready for me to actually jump in and help.

The day she finally called me to say she was ready, I was totally swamped. I was knee-deep in about half a dozen separate projects, and all of them were at the point where I was about out of time to finish them in anything remotely resembling the timeline I had available.

I do a lot of technical work on my websites and my products, and the work can be exceedingly time consuming if something doesn’t go as expected, which is what had happened with me previous to her phone call.

So, when this person called and said she was ready to get started, my first instinct was to freak out! I would be lucky to finish the things already on my task list, let alone throwing another project in there.

However, I am a man of honor and a very ethical business owner, so when this person called, I knew that by my own moral code that I had no choice but to help her. Luckily, when she first called I wasn’t able to answer the phone, so I got the message via voicemail. The buffer of time that technology sometimes allows us can be a very good thing.

After listening to her message and finding out that my small amount of time was going to dwindle even further now, I started to have a negative reaction to that. Frustration, anxiety, nervousness, etc. - these are all negative emotions. Negative emotions create magnetically charged frequencies that will - based on the Law of Attraction - attract more negativity.

So I stopped and thought about the situation for a minute, and I had 2 potential ways to look at it:

1) I don’t have time for this! I’m already swamped, this person should have been ready when she originally said she was going to be, and it’s not MY fault that she chose this particular day to call me!

Frustration. Anger. Anxiety. Guilt. Negative. Negative. Negative. Negative.

2) I’ve got a lot going on, but I know how excited she is about me helping her with this project. She is really looking forward to finishing this up, and she is going to be in a much better position to improve her life and to help the people around her once this project is done. I remember how excited she was when we talked about doing this together, and she is looking forward to having this project done so she can be proud of it, and take advantage of what it represents to her.

Charity. Pride. Understanding. Accomplishment. Positive. Positive. Positive. Positive.

Even though I was busy, I chose to open Door #2, Monty. And get smacked right in the face with the Law of Attraction!

I called her up after having thought all of those positive things, I was ready to help her, and I knew that one way or another by taking the high road, things would work out, and they did.

It turns out that even though she was ready to get started, there were still some preliminary things that she had to finish before I could jump in with both feet, and she didn’t really need that much of my time that day, or the next day. In fact, based on the discussion that her and I had about the project previously, she had done almost all of the “leg” work, and what I actually had to do turned out to take less than half the time that it was supposed to.

On top of all of that, she is so happy with the work that I did for her that she is going out of her way to do everything that she can possibly do before calling on me to lend a hand.

She is very grateful to me (one of the most powerful positive emotions), she is sharing my work with others who are very complimentary, and she has me feeling so good about the work that I find it hard to believe I ever even considered having a negative thought about the whole thing!

As of the writing of this post, her project is almost 100% done, and I am actually more caught up on the tasks on my to-do list than I have been in a very long time.

Coincidence? Luck?

Hardly.

This is exactly how the Law of Attraction works! I am so grateful to be able to share a story like this with you because I think that it helps to clarify some of the confusion about the Law of Attraction.

People who have heard of it but don’t really understand it tend to think that things are quite a bit more literal than they really are. Yes, the Law of Attraction can - and will - attract very specific things into your life over the long-term.

However, you don’t sit back, think about a brand new car, an instant cure for your allergies, and teenagers who are model citizens, and then expect those things to come waltzing through your door 5 minutes later. It doesn’t work that way.

As I said earlier, the Law of Attraction will attract similar frequencies to what you think and feel about, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will understand the path that the universe will take to grant your wish until it is granted!

In my case, it started out as a schedule that was already too full and then got added to with this individual’s request, and I was in a position to have a serious problem on my hands.

By simply reacting in a positive manner rather than a negative manner, not only did I honor my obligation to her, but I ended up more ahead of the game than I have been in months.

All of that by simply going Positive instead of Negative. No money was spent, no classes were taken, no counselors, swamis, or business coaches were consulted. There was no prayer involved (although there is nothing wrong with that), there was no destroying 2 days in my calendar and rebuilding them from scratch with a “new and improved” plan of action, and there was certainly no anxiety-induced panic attack.

I simple decided. I am going to have a positive reaction to this situation.

That’s it, that’s all. The Universal Law of Attraction took care of the rest.

Now that’s what I call service.

I implore you - take advantage of the Law of Attraction at every available opportunity. You have absolutely nothing to lose, but everything to gain!
