Doing it Differently Blog Carnival, 8th Edition
Welcome to the 8th edition of the Doing it Differently Blog Carnival!
This carnival is dedicated to the concept of stepping outside of the box and living our lives in ways beyond the "norm"!
Whether you want to learn unique ways to think or act differently, or if you want to share your own unique ideas, this carnival is for you!
There will be a new edition of the carnival posted every two weeks, on the 1st and the 15th of every month. You can click here to learn more, or click here to submit a post for the next edition, which will be posted on August 15, 2007.
If you are one of the authors featured in this edition and you want to help your post to be seen by as many people as possible, be sure to add this post to Stumbleupon, Digg, or your favorite social bookmarking site!
In this edition, we cover concepts such as enjoying your day, facing your fears, getting things done, being in love, and much more - Enjoy!
1) Brad Isaac of Achieve-IT! shares both some common as well as some not so common methods to make your day better in his post 10 Ways to Have a Happy Workday.
2) In the post Do What Now? Lyman Reed invites us to skip the habit of analyzing things and just get up and do it!
3) At INTJ Personal Development, Warren Wong echoes the concept of getting things done in his post Just Do It. Be sure to check out the catchy slogan at the end!
4) For a cool acronym that does a great job of describing what fear really is, check out Tupelo Kenyon's post Facing Fear with Deliberate Awareness.
5) Nneka over at the Balanced Life Center brings us the post I Am in Love in which she invites us to leave the list of 50 Tips at home, and to experience happiness from the only place that it truly exists - on the inside.
6) Check out the Frugal Panda's list of the Top 10 Most Frugal Celebs (Yes, They Do Exist). I especially liked the one actor who had the uncommon level of common sense to realize that he doesn't want to be making movies forever, so he doesn't spend his money recklessly.
7) Want to Save big on your Mortgage? Be sure to check out Tushar's method of carving 5 to 10 years off of your mortgage, and saving up to $100,000 in the process!
8) Kara-Leah Masina asks a very good question in her post Suffering is optional - so why are we SO attached to it?
9) At the Fish Creek House, we are invited to get In the Spirit by realizing the boring cycle of our lives will not change unless we are willing to step outside of our comfort zones!
10) Art Clarke at Running Naked used some managerial concepts in a novel way - to lose some weight! Check out his summary in the post How I Lost 25 Pounds by Being a Manager.
11) Like to watch TV? The Happy Rock is asking the question Do Cable and TV Cost More Than We Think? The answers might surprise you!
12) At Trust Matters, Charles Green gives a GREAT analogy that compares 2 very unlikely species that share a common ritual. Business owners and product providers be sure to check out Trust Tip 57: Don't "Handle" Objections.
13) Dana at Principled Discovery shares the story of The insanity of Itsy Bitsy, and it is short, sweet, and to the point. Funny how children point out things that a lot of adults miss!
14) Edith Yeung gives us some novel ideas for getting what we want in her post Know How to Ask for What you Deserve and Break the Glass Ceiling.
15) If you are trying to get things done but keep falling short, check out Jeri Merrell's post called The Laws of Thermodynamics and Personal Focus. Don't worry, it isn't as technical as it sounds!
16) Addicted to computer games, but don't want to spend $3,000 for a new top of the line PC? Check out the Free Geekery's unique tips in the post How to: Build a Great Gaming Rig on the Cheap.
17) In her post A Danger of "Experience" Jane Chin uses a real life story to illustrate the fact that going with what you know (or think you know) is not always the appropriate thing to do!
That wraps up the 8th edition of the Doing it Differently Blog Carnival! Many thanks to all of our authors, and don't forget to use the "Share This" text link below to add this post to your favorite social bookmarking website!

Nneka,
You are most welcome, and thanks for noticing the effort. I do my best to make my blog carnivals useful to the readers, and to help the authors get more exposure. Going through the posts and doing a quick write up is time consuming, but oh so worth it for everyone involved! ;)
