Kimberly,

If there is one thing that I have found repeated time and time again in this world, it is that if you do things like everyone else is doing them, your life will quickly become nothing but an exercise in how to be like everyone else. Where's the fun in that?? ;)

Really great post and so very true! It is somewhat egocentric to think your way is the only way! There are times you really just need to "shake things up a bit" to get some results!

Irene,

To use the phrase that James Ray talks about in his Million Dollar Mindset program, it is the "peaks of possibility".

In other words, as difficult as the climb to the top of any one peak may be, it is only from the top of that peak that you can see the next one.

It's a great analogy for the learning process. :)

The path that leads to success is a learning journey. It is the curves and turns that make up the experience to handle more challenging tasks layed ahead after success.

Melody,

Thanks a bunch for the great contribution to the discussion! I especially love this part:

...when we focus our attention on the goal the journey unfolds...

That is exactly how it happens, yet people tend to get caught up in the journey, as you indicated. We should see the steps for the value that they have - and we should also live in the moment - but at the same time, keeping our eyes on the end result that we want will then cause the necessary steps to just fall into place.

Really great post. I think what happens sometimes is that we make the journey out goal. I've discovered that when we focus our attention on the goal the journey unfolds. That doesn't mean we should make plans in the achievement of the goal but we should remain flexible. Sometimes we get stuck because we cannot figure out the entire roadmap from where we are now to our goal.
