They focus every day on what they don’t have, on what they’re missing, and wonder why this foretold wealth doesn’t magically appear.

Don’t you have to live meagerly and save every penny so you can amass wealth?

Absolutely not! That’s the plan that KEEPS you broke.

It’s one thing to completely waste and not appreciate anything you have, but living out of fear and hording every single penny (again – out of FEAR) will actually repel any wealth that may be coming your way.

Some people have amassed fortunes in spite of themselves. Many actually wealthy people save every penny and live as though they were poor, even though they have millions of dollars stashed away in the bank and various couch cushions. At the end of the day, these people live a life of poverty every day, by way of their very own deliberate intent.

And then the financial planning gurus come on television and tell everyone how the need to always stash money away for a rainy day. Then regular people who WANT wealth and abundance in their lives follow these penny-pinching examples and wonder why they stay broke and miserable.

Are you coming from a place of lack and fear, or one of love and abundance?

People who are always saving everything away for a “rainy day” are statistically blessed with more rainy days than most anyone. Rainy days are, after all, where their focus is. And we all know that what you focus on grows.

This is not to say that you should spend every last penny you have. But rather, don’t focus your energy and conscious intention on “rainy days” and lack.

Surrounding yourself with poverty and lack at every turn does NOT condition your mind to be at ease with wealth and abundance. Quite the contrary, you’re enforcing a reality of poverty, and virtually guaranteeing that’s what you’ll be experiencing from then on.

Ultimately this means you are living each day out of fear. Not love, hope, excitement and enthusiasm – but fear. And that is the greatest deterrent for wealth and abundance.

The Trick to Money is Having Some – Stewart Wilde

Here’s a radical approach that has worked wonders for us, and should work for you as well – if you can only allow yourself to believe in the possibility.

In The Trick to Money is Having Some, Stewart Wilde recommends immersing yourself in the lifestyle you dream about: a life of wealth, abundance, and possibility.

He encourages you to think and live big – more into the nicest possible house you can afford, and stay at a 5 Star hotel whenever you possibly can.  If you can’t afford to stay at a very expensive 5 Star hotel, you can still go there for a coffee, a drink, or maybe even a modest meal.

The point isn’t to spend beyond your means, but rather to FEEL what it’s like to live surrounded by wealth and abundance. You must feel and experience the sensations, what it’s all about. And then, you will slowly come to expect for life to unravel in this manner. And the more you expect something to go a certain way, the more it will.

Another great book that helps to dispel  many of the myths around money and wealth is  Why You’re Dumb, Sick & Broke…And How to Get Smart, Healthy & Rich! by Randy Gage.

Ask yourself this question every day: where is your focus?

Are you focusing on the experience you wish to have, or the problems you wish would go away? Most people just focus on their problems and what they’re missing. Remember: whatever you focus on grows stronger. So if you focus all your energy on your “problems”, bills, and whatever else is making you unhappy, then guess what you’ll get… More of that.

What IS money anyway? Can you REALLY get excited about it?

Money itself is worthless paper, it means nothing. The real value to money is the promise of what you can do and achieve in exchange for it.

Logically, we know that money can solve a lot of the issues we’re facing. It can allow us to purchase whatever creature comforts we desire, and so on. But it’s hard to get excited about any of that. At the end of the day, what truly excites you is the dream, the thing that money will get for you. So, let’s go to the source.

How can you REALLY manifest money and abundance?

Our true power to manifest our desires into reality is based on feelings, emotions. The best and fastest way to attract something into your life is to focus on what you want, see it clearly in your mind, and experience the joy and feelings of ALREADY HAVING IT. Close your eyes and experience the joy of driving your brand new exotic sports car. FEEL the exhilaration, the excitement, the luxury and abundance. Every morning, set aside 10 minutes for a brief meditation where you close your eyes, sit perfectly still, and repeat this exercise.

So stop focusing on “having a lot of money”. Rather, train your focus on what you want to attract into your life… a beautiful home, a wonderful neighborhood, an exotic car, a great job, freedom to work from home for yourself, etc.

Success, including financial prosperity, rarely comes to those who lack direction or purpose. Most of us possess a loose network of desires, tendencies and interests that guide us to choose a profession and chart a satisfactory direction for our lives.

Perhaps our first stab at a career came when we took the first job we could get, just to get away from, or to please Mom and Dad. Many of us just go on from there, working this or that job, interesting or not. While your job may not necessarily be your life, since you will spend 30 to 50 percent of your life at work, it stands to reason that doing something that you are absolutely crazy about will, at least, make the time go faster.

Stick With Your Passion

All of us want to make a living doing something we really love, but lack the self-confidence to pursue, such as being involved in medical case management, a painter, a gourmet chef, an automobile mechanic, or a writer. As Jack Palance said in the film “City Slickers”, “The secret to life is to pick one thing and stick with it.” The adhesive that will help us “stick with it” and live the lives we love is passion.

On unique occasions, such as being laid off, succumbing to job burn-out, or just wanting more out of life, we decide to make a change and prepare a clean slate on which to plot our next course. It is at these times that our passions, our burning desires, will give us direction and motivation to pursue the next big thing in our lives.

The Other Side of the Passion Coin

We should not accept the objects of our passions on face value, but rather discover what it is about them that really float our boats. If you feel passionate about “helping people”, careers in that field number in the hundreds. They can range from being a live-in aid for a disabled person to going to medical school and becoming a pathologist. On the one hand, a live-in aid has intensive contact with his or her client, including bathing, feeding, and toilet procedures. A pathologist rarely sees patients and works in a lab, preparing specimens and doing hours of microscopic analyses. Both jobs would qualify as “helping people.” The trick to choosing a living by following your passions is to explore careers that offer the most satisfaction that also have the fewest disagreeable features.

Find That Special Niche

A passion for art is also a gossamer-like concept. If all you want to do is paint wildlife and fill up page after page in your sketchbooks, you should run that up the flagpole and go full speed ahead. However, if you passionately love art, and think you should become an artist, but never doodle in the margins of your schoolbooks and are hesitant to make that first mark on a piece of illustration board, look deeper into your passion to discover that special niche.

Perhaps an easier route to living your passion is to look at what you already do. What is the one thing you do that you are always thinking about, analyzing, and doing in your spare time? Making a living while doing what you are passionate about may sound more difficult than hanging in there with your safe old job, but you can seamlessly transition into a new career by setting aside time in the evenings instead of doing non-productive things such as watching TV. There are distance learning courses, online degree programs, and web sites that can teach you just about anything.

Engage!

If you are ready to commit to making money by following your passions, set the stage by making time for yourself, being honest with yourself about your talents and passions, doing all the research, and establishing a game plan. Let the transformation begin!

Veteran readers of this blog will note that I have been out of the loop recently, and the subject of finding what you are passionate about is a large part of the very reason why I dropped out of the blogosphere for so long. In short, I have been struggling with how best to spend the time and resources that I dedicate to my career, and I recently got a wonderful bit of assistance in that regard: Brian Kim’s awesome book, How to FINALLY Find What You Love to Do AND Get Paid For Doing It.

Back in July 2007, I did a review of one of Brian’s other books, The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich, and since that book was incredibly useful, I was ecstatic to hear that Brian had released something new. The concept of finding what it is that we are passionate about is something that so very many people struggle with. After reading Brian’s Book, I can honestly say that the system contained in his book is the best one that I have seen yet.

As Brian so eloquently points out in the book, many people are “secretly leading lives of quiet desperation,” and despite their desire to find fulfillment and financial success, very few people are able to find and stick to a system that allows them to do so. As a result, many people end up just doing whatever they are good at and/or educated for, and what they actually WANT to be doing rarely even enters into the equation.

Using myself as an example, this blog has been up for several years, and although it has been a success on every measurable level, it became more and more apparent to me over time that simply blogging for a living – although enjoyable – was not enough for me. My life requires more of a consistent challenge than just writing provided to me, and I was left asking myself just what it was that I DID want to do.

Although I still love blogging and working on the Internet, I can’t honestly say that I am passionate enough about blogging to see it as my “mission” in life. Does it hold value for other people? Absolutely, and for that I am grateful. However, my destiny lies along a different path, and Brian’s book really helped to open my eyes to some core concepts that needed to be considered as I mapped out the next stages of my life.

How to Find your Passions

There are other books out there on the subject of finding your passions, but as Brian points out in How to FINALLY Find What You Love to Do AND Get Paid For Doing It, most books on this topic ask you to think about the DETAILS of a passion-filled life, but they never really tell you how to find that passion to begin with. The details (type of work, ideal work day, income potential, etc.) are just a small part of the equation compared to the importance of finding the passion FIRST, and then working out the less important details once the passionate foundation has been laid.

In addition to the step by step process that Brian lays out in the book, he is quick to also add in that using the power of your subconscious mind is also an integral part of finding your passions. Brian’s system advises you to not only make a consistent conscious effort towards finding your passions, but to also use your subconscious mind as an active ally in the process, and to respond quickly whenever inspiration or “ah-ha moments” strike.

Did you find your passions?

Another thing I love about the book is that there is a 10-question “test” that you can apply once you think you have nailed down your passions. It is easy to get excited about a new idea or a new plan of action, but if the new passion won’t fuel a long-term process, then it’s not really a passion to begin with.

Chapter 5 is entitled How You’ll Know You’ve Truly Found What You Love to Do, and the 10-question test does a great job of separating temporary enthusiasm from the long-term mindset that true passions are made up of.

How to Make Money with your Passions

There are really only 2 ways of making money: You either use your resources to work for and invest in yourself, or you use those resources to benefit someone else, a.k.a. – an employer. Both of those systems have their benefits, and this book does not take sides. Brian has a section about how to make money as an employee while following your passions, and a separate section for how to make money as a passionate Entrepreneur.

Both of those sections of the book include the same “questions equal answers” mentality, and the questions that you ask yourself about how to monetize your passions are the critical first step towards finding useful answers. People who find the wrong answers are the same people who asked the wrong questions. For both the employee route, as well as the entrepreneurial route, Brian lists the types of questions that you should ask yourself.

I was also very impressed with the short, yet extremely useful section that he put together for entrepreneurs who want to monetize their passions. His overview of the entrepreneurial process of making money while loving what you do is only a few pages long, but it covers a lot of ground and definitely points the would be entrepreneur in the right direction.

Conclusion

Overall, the book How to FINALLY Find What You Love to Do AND Get Paid For Doing It promises a lot, and if you are willing to go through the processes described in the book, you will indeed get a lot out of your time investment. Discovering what to do with the rest of your life is worth a little bit of homework, don’t you think?

For me personally, I have already changed my own mindset about the future, and I have a renewed sense of hope and confidence as a result. Even just a short time after reading the book,  I have already gotten a huge amount of value from it.

Brian Kim has written a lot of great content over the years, and despite the massive impact that this book will have on the lives of anyone who reads it, the cost is very low.

Big props to you, Brian, and thanks for this great book that will help to put so many people on the right path!

We’ve all done it. We decide to find a new job, or start a business, and the first things that we think about are the types of work we are qualified for, what employment is available, or what type of business we think that we could succeed at. How is it possible that an entire culture so completely ignores their own desires when it comes to making career decisions?

Am I saying that you should ignore the facts and try to sell surfboards in Siberia? No. However, if you lived in Siberia and you really wanted to sell surfboards, you COULD find a way!

There is an almost global self-limiting belief that our ability to make money is dependent on factors that  – in truth – are merely side notes to a wealth creation plan, rather than being the main considerations:

• To do a certain type of work you need a certain type of education. I call B.S.! Actually, what you need is experience, and the only way to get experience is to do the work. Ask any college grad under the age of 25 who is out looking for a job right now how effective their degree has been in landing them a high-paying position.
• The economy has a lot to do with the success of any given business model. I call B.S.! Yes, the economy is a factor, but if the economy is the main consideration, why are people still buying Jaguars, Ferrari’s, 5-figure pieces of jewelry, cinema-like home entertainment systems, and why are they still taking vacations to the Bahamas?
• A proper business plan is needed to ensure success. I call B.S.! When I ran my own personal training business, I shut it down at the height of my success when I would have made $100,000 that year. My entire business plan consisted of a website and one monthly advertisement that I paid less than $10 per month for.

There is only one factor that should be your prime consideration when you are trying to decide what you want to do for a living, and that is what you want to do. No matter what it is that you truly enjoy doing in life, there is some way that you can make money by doing it.

• People get paid right now to go bar-hopping with tourists on paid “pub crawls”.
• People get paid to design, test, and play video games.
• People get paid to eat at the finest restaurants, and then write about it.
• People get paid to write smarmy content on the Internet even though the content is given away for free.
• People get paid to travel all over the world and film themselves enjoying the global culture.
• People get paid to go diving and snorkeling in the most beautiful waters that this planet has to offer.

I could go on and on, but you should get the point by now. You can get paid to do what you love, no matter what it is that you love to do.

Pretty cool, huh?

The fastest way to determine whether or not your present career or a career that you are considering is going to be successful over the long-term is to write up a Personal Vision Statement for your career, and then simply compare your career options to that statement.

In order to write up your Personal Vision Statement, you simply need to ask yourself:

1. What do I truly enjoy doing?
2. What parameters have to be a part of (or absent from) my career?

That’s it! Don’t turn it into an 8-page dissertation – this is just an outline that you can use as a sanity check when you are considering your career options. Here is my example:

• What do I truly enjoy doing? I enjoy empowering people to create success and happiness in their lives.
• What parameters have to be a part of (or absent from) my career? The majority of my work has to be able to be done from anywhere in the world, and my work has to include residual sources of income.

Do you see how this is an outline that I can use to compare career options, rather than it being a business plan? Whenever I come up with an idea for a business, or when I am offered a job, or when I consider getting involved in a joint venture, all I have to do is compare that opportunity to my Personal Vision Statement. If the business idea, the job, or the joint venture does not fit into my Personal Vision Statement, then I do not get involved in it.

This is not rocket science, people, so please don’t over-think it. Ask yourself those 2 questions, and then give yourself honest answers based on what you want – not on what you think is possible.

What is possible is limited only by what you believe that you can do. Create that belief by being passionate about your desires, and success will be a natural – and glorious – side effect.

In today’s world, “relationship marketing” is finally starting to take the place of obnoxious advertising and in-your-face sales techniques. Time is rapidly becoming your most valuable commodity, and outsourcing tasks that you personally don’t need to do is becoming a necessity, rather than just an option. How do you pay to outsource tasks when you don’t yet have the customers that you are trying to reach, however?

As recent readers of this blog are aware, I have decided to get back into health and fitness coaching as my primary service offering, and marketing a brand-new health-related business – especially locally – can be both challenging and expensive. There are mailing lists to buy, print jobs to do, postage to pay for, research to be done, resources to obtain, websites to be built and managed – and on and on the list goes. Once a new business has a presence, then word of mouth and other marketing methods take over, but until that point, money is normally needed to grease the wheels in order to get a new business venture off the ground.

In brainstorming ways to finance the needs of my new business venture, it occurred to me that I could put together an informative blog post about the process, and help some other people at the same time. So, that being said, here are four ways to save the day on a tight budget!

1) Ask for Donations

There is a very untrue belief that no one wants to help anyone else out; that there is this all-encompassing “What’s in it for me?” mentality that all people subscribe to. Although it is true that everyone wants to get something out of their efforts, sometimes all they want is to feel like they have contributed to a worthy cause.

Again, if your product or service is truly beneficial to other people (rather than only benefiting your own bank account), then there is no shame in asking people if they are willing to help you in your efforts to benefit others.

If people believe in what you have to offer, then they will also believe that their donated money is going to be well-spent on a cause that they believe in. Also, whenever you ask for a donation, you’ve got nothing to lose. If these people aren’t already giving you money, and then they also refuse to give you a donation, then you have lost nothing in the effort.

Allow people to choose their own donation amount, however. It’s up to THEM how much they want to contribute.

My version of this Idea: If my 3 years as a personal trainer and my 2 years as a personal development writer have caused you to have enough faith in my ability to help other people, then please consider donating to the cause. I am building both online health and fitness groups (such as the Million Dollar Body Challenge), and I am reaching out to the people in my local community as well in order to offer them quality help and support, but without breaking their bank accounts.

2) Have a Sale

If you already have products or services that you offer, have a sale in order to get more customers interested. You have already spent the time, money, and energy to put together your product and service offerings, and since that time, money, and energy is already gone, you have nothing to lose by giving people a temporary break in the price.

Be smart about your sale, however, and don’t devalue your products or services by offering them for less than they are worth. However, a temporary price reduction in order to generate some additional interest is a win/win situation for you, as well as your customers.

Also, make it a discount worth their time! A 10%-15% discount is like getting a raise at work for only a quarter an hour. Yes, it helps, but it’s such a small help that it isn’t really all that enticing. Make your sale prices low enough that your customers really want to take advantage of the opportunity.

3) Make a one-time Offer

Your products or your services are priced at a certain point, and they include certain features, benefits, support, guarantees, etc. Your customers pay you “x” amount and they get “x” value in return. That is the routine, and normally, they have to stick to that routine in order to take advantage of your products and services.

A one-time offer (or OTO, for you Internet marketers), is a one-time only offer when they can get your products or services for a price or in a manner that will never happen again. The one-time offer should offer TRUE value, though, and not just be a sales gimmick. If your one-time offer is truly offering them a value that they won’t be able to get any other time, then you have created another win/win situation for you and your customers.

Keep your integrity whenever you create a one-time offer, however. Don’t say that it’s “now or never” to your customers, but then turn around and make the same offer a month later. If it’s a one-time offer, only offer it ONE TIME!

4) Have an Auction

One of the best ways to empower a potential customer to know that they are getting enough value for their money is to ask THEM to decide how much they think it is worth. By putting a price tag on a product or service yourself, you immediately cause a potential customer to make a snap decision about whether your product or service is worth a given amount of money.

By putting something up for auction, you send the message to the customer that you are willing to entertain any reasonable offer that they are willing to make in order to have access to your product or service. At the same time, you release your own attachment to making a certain amount of money.

Also, this can be a valuable research tool for future products or services that you may offer. If you think that whatever you are offering is worth a certain amount of money, yet people consistently bid much lower (or higher) than you expected, then you will now have a mini-market survey at your disposal. This can help you to not only price your products or services in an appropriate manner in the future, but can also help you to make sure that you are creating enough value, and then expressing that value to potential customers.

As you have seen by reading this post, one of the keys to financing a new business venture is to do the same thing that you should have been doing all along – providing value.

If your products or services are not valuable, then you shouldn’t be selling them anyway. However, if you have products or services that are worth what you are asking for them, thinking outside of the box for ways to create additional value – or a lower perceived price – can kick-start an additional flow of currency that you can then apply to your new venture.

1) Don’t manage your money effectively, or

Effective Money Management

This category is for people who want to save money, but they simply can’t figure out how to do it. No matter how many times they try to budget their money, they still end up broke, and they still never manage to save any significant amount of money, or they never manage to pay for that car, house, or dream vacation that they’ve been saving for.

For these people, a course in money management is far more important than figuring out a way to actually bring in more money. Need to Make More Money

If you can budget, save, invest, and diversify with the best of ‘em, but you simply don’t have enough actual income to ever do much more than pay your bills, then it’s time to change those circumstances.

The first thing for you to realize is that your J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) is potentially one of the worst possible ways for you to make money. Without even giving it much thought, here are several great reasons to NOT depend on your job for financial success:

• You will always be trading time for dollars. “X” amount of time equals “X” amount of dollars – always.
• You have no job security. It doesn’t matter who you work for these days, your job could go away in an instant.
• You do not control your income level; your boss or management team does.
• You will always be limited by what you are “allowed” to do in order to bring in additional money.
• You will always have to deal with the schedule of your employer and/or your customers, even if that schedule is not conducive to creating additional wealth.

So, if a J.O.B. is not the way to make money, then how you are supposed to get your hands on the cash? Simple: Realize that a J.O.B. is only one model of creating wealth, and then find a model that works better for you:

• Internet Marketing
• Networking Marketing
• Investments
• Consulting
• Contract Work
• Virtual Work
• Coaching

Think that you don’t have the skills or the expertise to get involved in one or more of those business models? Consider the following:

The Bottom Line

Regardless of whether your financial issues are related to poor money management skills or a lack of (presently) available capital, you do have the ability to turn it around! Embrace that ability and start living your life, instead of worrying about your money.

Cash. Moolah. Currency. Bucks. Banknotes. Funds. Capital. Legal Tender.

You can choose the word that personally resonates with you whenever you think of having money, but while you are mulling over whichever word really works for you, I am going to share the word that I associate with the concept of having money:

Opportunity.

Money in its physical state has very little value, in and of itself. It is the value that we, as humans, place on money that gives it value, and the more “value” you have, the more OPPORTUNITIES you have to enjoy your life.

Many people have considered money to be “bad” throughout the ages, and to this day many of us (most of us?) still have self-limiting beliefs about money. We have been raised with this cultural – and utterly false – belief that living in financial abundance is not normal, or appropriate, or that living such a lifestyle is something that is meant for people other than ourselves.

However, these cultural programmings are steeped in an unconscious belief that having an excess amount of money is “wrong” for some reason. We have this utterly ridiculous belief that only “certain” people can live an extravagant lifestyle. We think that people other than ourselves have the resources or the opportunities to make a lot of money, but not us. We think that just taking care of our own is a noble and worthy cause, and there is no need for “riches”.

Here’s your wake-up call: The Earth as we know it is founded on exchanging money for the goods, experiences, and services that each and every one of us needs and wants.

• You can be “holier than thou” all day long in your beliefs that you only need enough money to “get by,” and at the end of your journey on Earth, “getting by” will be all that you accomplished.
• You can spend your whole life thinking that only real estate geniuses, marketing wizards, and Hollywood stars have that “special” something that allows them to be rich, and by thinking that way you will spend your entire life watching other people live a life that you could only dream of.
• You can keep thinking that money isn’t one of the primary components of happiness for as long as you like, and although you may be happy on other levels, the opportunities that money represents in life will have slipped you by. You will have missed much of what this life has to offer.

Most people will answer a question like that with any one of a number of negative thoughts or beliefs, and in most cases, those same negative thoughts or beliefs are the very reason why those people aren’t wealthy.

Yes, there are certain “real world” circumstances that human beings create in order to experience financial abundance, but as with all things, the process needs to start in our heads before any progress can be made out in the real world.

One of the Senior Thought Leaders at Personal Development Partners has a great eBook that discusses these types of concepts, and after reading the book just now, I wanted to share some of the highlights with you. The book is called 30 Days to Wealth, and it was written by the indomitable Shauna Arthurs of Follow Your Path.

Shauna’s book is basically a “point A to point B” trip that takes the reader on a 30-day journey of self discovery as well as real-world action that changes the reader’s understanding of their relationship with money, and ultimately with themselves.

Overall I was impressed with the book, and despite my own abundant mentality, I found several nuggets of information that helped me with my relationship with money, and several timely reminders as well. Things that really struck me included:

• The fact that the book is all about creating a certain way of “being” rather than a mindless “map to riches”. The book talks about and describes methods for becoming wealthy on the inside so that wealth manifests automatically on the outside.
• There were several very practical exercises that teach the reader how to invoke the feelings of wealth, even without actually having it. Learning to have those feelings, of course, then causes the creation of actual wealth out in the “real world”.
• One of the best lessons in the book involves how to deal with our desire for wealth by describing a selfish vs. a selfless situation. I found that to be some valuable insight, since so many people think that wanting money is a “bad” thing.
• There was also a unique time line exercise about making note of things that we regret in our lives for the purpose of releasing the self-limiting beliefs that we created as a result of those events.
• Another great exercise included a method for noticing the things that create negative reactions for us. This is powerful because as we figure out what creates negativity in our lives, we are instantly empowered to release our attachment to those beliefs or concepts, thus breaking their hold over us.
• One of my favorite features was an awesome list of pointed questions that help to identify a person’s true inner beliefs about wealth (or lack thereof), actual motivations behind wealth building efforts, and also whether or not certain actions are truly in alignment with stated desires for wealth and abundance.

Also, one “bonus” lesson outside of the stated 30-day regimen is the very act of focusing on wealth and abundance every single day for 30 days straight. That in and of itself is a valuable exercise that seems simple, but ask yourself how many times you have actually done it.

Overall, I was impressed with 30 Days to Wealth, and I saw it as a valuable tool for creating the “wealth mindset” which in turn creates actual wealth. Great job, Shauna!

There are certainly people who want to believe that they can use the power of positive thinking to manifest some cold hard cash, and having a positive attitude is certainly a step in the right direction.

However, positive thinking alone will not manifest financial success, nor will the Law of Attraction.

Let’s compare the Law of Attraction to the Law of Gravity.

If you stand on top of a tall building and drop a rock over the edge, that rock will surely fall to the ground. However, did the Law of Gravity make you drop the rock to begin with?

The answer, of course, is No. The Law of Gravity is simply the tool that you used to get your rock from the top of the building down to the ground.

The Law of Attraction works the same way when it comes to making money. Let’s rephrase that same question, inputting our money and LOA variables:

If you properly use the principles of conscious creation to manifest the circumstances needed to attain financial success, you will certainly attain said success.

However, the Law of Attraction did not create the financial success for you.

The Law of Attraction in this instance is simply a tool, like the Law of Gravity was a tool in the previous example.

Using the LOA as a tool for attaining financial success means just that – using it as a tool. In this case, you are using the tool to manifest the circumstances that will create the wealth, not the wealth itself.

People who think that they can magically manifest piles of cash by simply sitting around thinking about it will quickly find themselves in the poor house.

Your ticket out of that poor house is not to focus on the green stuff and then just sit around and wait. Rather, your ticket to success is to focus on what you want and then be on the lookout for the circumstances that you manifested as a result of that focus.

Normally this will come in the form of a burst of inspiration for you to take some sort of action. That action might be something obvious like making a wise financial investment, or it may be something that seems completely unrelated to your financial goal.

Perhaps you will be inspired to attend a social event that you otherwise might not have gone to, and at the event you end up hooking up with a new business partner, or a mentor who helps you get from the poor house to the rich house.

You might be inspired to take up a hobby that will actually cost you money up front, but then eventually snowballs into a wildly successful business. Don’t believe me? There are people right now making large sums of money off of making purses and clothing out of recycled juice boxes and other containers. Anything is possible!

How to Make Money with the Law of Attraction

Okay, so you are willing to believe that it is at least possible to make money with the Law of Attraction, but how does one go about doing it?

The same way that one goes about doing anything else with the Law of Attraction – with feeling!

It is always about consciously creating the feeling of having the success that you want to have. If you focus on trying to come up with a plan or a scheme for getting rich, you might be waiting for awhile.

However, by simply focusing on already feeling like you have attained success, that is when you will find the inspired action that was discussed earlier. I’ll give you an example straight from my own life:

I have several primary goals, and I can tell you right now that they aren’t cheap. To attain my goals in life, I need cash, and a lot of it. Not because money makes me happy, because it doesn’t. However, money buys me freedom, which does make me happy.

So, in order to manifest that money, I focus on a daily basis on the feelings of already having achieved the success that I want to achieve:

• I visualize my goals, and all the while I am visualizing them as if they have already happened, and I am simply standing there in a glow of perpetual happiness and success.
• I affirm my success daily by using phrases such as “Money comes to me easily and frequently,” and “Since I live on the beach, I can…”
• I am true to who I am as an individual, and I experience an inordinate amount of pleasure on a daily basis just by doing so!

Do any of those systems cause financial success to land on my desktop in one lump sum, causing me to instantly grab my horse and ride off into the sunset, living happily ever after? Nope!

However, the cumulative effect of doing all of those things on a daily basis causes me to feel good, to feel happy, and to feel successful.

As a result, I literally have more ideas for making money come to me than I could possibly take action on. I use EverNote to keep track of all of the ideas that I manifest, and let’s just say that my copy of EverNote is in need of a vacation…

Check out the following story swiped from an email I received from my friend Namaste:

“Michelle Goering of Vancouver, British Columbia, read the book THE ONE MINUTE MILLIONAIRE in December of 2005. The book is co-authored by Mark Victor Hansen who co-created the Chicken Soup For The Soul series. She was excited about the idea of making an enlightened million and a few weeks later, on January 12, she formed a team that met together for the first time. They called themselves (ok this is cheesy but it worked) the MillionHares. It took four weeks of incubation for them to come up with a GREAT IDEA. By February 16 they were testing and marketing the idea. By March 11 they had found a buyer for their idea and negotiated a seven-figure contract. Michelle went from idea to payday in 99 days!”

Michelle certainly made it possible to make a cool million in a very short period of time. Is Michelle’s story a rare occasion? Sure it is. Bob Proctor – a man who has been studying and creating wealth for more than 40 years – says that only about 1% of the population of this planet control around 96% of the wealth. So, yes, Michelle’s story is rare, but that is actually the entire point that I want to make. Michelle is one of the rare people who will ultimately fit into that very small 1%. Her success story is rare, but only because we believe those type of stories to be rare! If I had started out this post by asking if it was possible to make a million dollars, most people would have said Yes. The world has plenty of people who have made a million dollars or more in their lifetime. It was the question of whether or not that million dollars could be made in 3 months that threw you for a loop and kicked your “I don’t believe it” engine into overdrive. If I may quote the sage wisdom of the mighty Yoda:

“THAT is why you fail.”

You see, our beliefs power our very existence, and it does not matter if your beliefs are steeped in poverty, or abundance. Whatever you believe is the truth IS the truth, simply because you believe it. The question of whether or not it is possible to make a million dollars elicits a completely different instinctive response than the question of whether or not it is possible to make a million dollars in only 3 months. As long as you continue to allow your beliefs about health, wealth, and happiness to be limited, your results will directly correspond to those belief limitations. If I may once again quote a great teacher, this time a living, breathing human, Dr. Michael Beckwith from the movie ‘The Secret’:

“We are Unlimited beings!”

So, the only question that you have to ask yourself is if you are going to continue to be shocked when confronted with something as staggering as making a million dollars in 3 months, or if your gut reaction will be something more along the lines of “I don’t need 3 months. I’ll do it in 2!”
