[...] What does any of this have to do with what gives me courage? Being honest. That's my answer. Doing or saying what other people expect of you is not courage. In fact, it's closer to cowardice. Courage is telling it like it is, living your life out loud, and if other people don't like it, well that's just tough. [...]

Hey Aaron,

no worries at all, reading your post just brought a huge smile to my face. And besides, I stole the name from a fab little book by Kerri Smith (Living Out Loud - activities to fuel a creative life) because I thought it was such a great concept too.

all the best,

Hilda.

Hilda,

Ya know, it's funny, because I have your blog in my RSS reader, and I never even put it together. Then, last night I was getting caught up on my blog reading after taking 4 days off and I saw the name of your blog again.

I was like "D'oh! I hope Hilda doesn't think I stole her idea!" :)

It's a fine concept, Hilda - for a blog post, or for an entire blog. Or - better yet - for an entire life. Thanks for doing your part to fuel that inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by, Heather, and I'll swing by your site to check it out!

Always a delight to find a kindred spirit. I like the two questions you leave us with. Do you want to take the red pill or the blue pill. ;)

Come visit us, too! I think you will like what you see.

Grigor,

Thank you so much for the positive feedback and also for sharing your real-world example!

It's rather ironic that in a world that is so full of potential negativity, all people are really looking for is some positive interaction. Makes you wonder why there isn't more of it around!

Thanks again, Grigor - great thoughts!

Aaron,
your article reminded me of a conversation I had few days ago. There were couple of friends and among them one professional musician. We were talking about critics and how they write and musician complained that there are critics who always write negative reviews. I said that, when I've been writing hi-fi equipement reviews, I always tried to emphasize good features and never complain about the bad things. And there were some! All my friends agreed that they would rather read a positively written review, even if there is only one good thing listed, than a constant rambling about one or two bad things.
People like positivity. They don't need a lot of it, but they need it always. We have to keep smiling, see the value in every experience and share our views also because of others.
Thats also why you have to keep writing great posts! ;)

Robert,

It's my pleasure. My belief is that we can all think of ways to have more fun in life, so if I helped you to stop and think, then I will add that to the list of things that I get to smile about today. :)
