Your insight into how our reaction to a site like that says so much about our present wealth mentality is right on the money, and I’m sure I’m not the only person who got some benefit from looking at it from that point of view.

You have obviously leaped over a lot of roadblocks to attain your presently level of wealth mentality, Shauna, and if you haven’t already done so, take a moment now to pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

I came here through PDP and was expecting something completely different, based on the comments I had already read.

For me, wealth is a huge part of personal growth, and the funny thing is that as soon as I saw that site I said ‘Cool! Wish I was single!’

The reason this is amazing is that I once would have had the same or similar judgments and reactions that you had, Aaron, and I just showed myself that I have come a long way, baby! No judgment came through whatsoever, nor do I have any problem with the concept.

Someone who is a millionaire, in my mind, would have the wealth mentality that I have taken such pains to cultivate in myself ie. they would be a kindred spirit. SO many people around me do not have that, and what a pleasure it would be to find like-minded individuals all in one place. It goes without saying that there would need to be so much else involved when considering someone new, such as – in my case – fitness-orientation, positivity, compassion, humor, etc.. But wealth mentality is so important to me and we all face so much lack mentality every day.

In this community, we talk about wealth as being a very well-rounded lifestyle, including money and everything else that makes us feel joy and happiness. I spend a lot of my blogging and writing time talking about finances and overcoming lack mentality, and I spend much of my reading and personal time building my financial literacy, as well as my personal wealth. To me, that site immediately said ‘like-minded people here!’

I guess it’s not the site itself that matters so much as our own reactions to it. I grant that my view is very different from the gold-diggers who would likely haunt such a site (oh — that was a judgment), but I’m happy at my reaction to it.

P.S. Hmmm…as I’m about to press ‘submit’ I notice I’m afraid of some strange backlash against my comments, as if they are offensive. Amazing what our minds can do to us. So THAT is where I need the work!

Each of us has things that we want in our lives or that we look for in others, and as long as we don’t judge others for exercising that same right, then we can all play nice in the sandbox!

It can be a hard concept for some people to grasp due to their own values/morals/ethics, but each person truly is created equal.

Thanks for illuminating that important point.

That being said, I don’t LIKE all people equally… I just think they all have equal value.
