That’s the beauty of it! Even if you don’t believe in the LOA, the practices are definitely going to be beneficial to your life, and if it’s free, what have you got to lose?

I have found in general – and especially with regard to the Law of Attraction – that someone’s point of view is far more important than any alleged “facts”.

When people realize that the same success concepts can be used whether a belief in the Law of Attraction exists or not, it can open up a lot more avenues for people to get what they want out of life!

Thank you so much for sharing your point of view! You bring up a set of questions that has been brought up many times before, and there are some solid answers to questions such as yours from the LOA perspective. They are far too drawn out to get into in a comment thread, but the bottom line is that there IS a reason for everything that happens.

Just because something is perceived as being “negative” at the time when it happens does not necessarily mean that the long-term result of that set of circumstances is negative.

That is a VERY loose answer to a very in-depth question, however, and I encourage you and anyone else who reads this to go check out the “Ask Mike” section of Tut’s Adventure Club. It was founded by Mike Dooley, one of the teachers from ‘The Secret’. He has much more detailed responses to these types of questions, and if you want to take the conversation further, there is also an awesome message board over there for discussing LOA concepts. I also agree that actions have consequences, but I have trouble not admitting that all things happen because of our actions. Did none of the 6 million Jews practice ‘The Secret’? None of the 3,000+ people in the New York on September 11th? The baby born with disabilities? The family hit by the drink driver? Do none experts at the secret get cancer, die, get divorced, go bankrupt? Or did they all just apply the principles incorrectly?

If we carry the LOA to its fulfillment, as we continue to master the principles and get better at it, then there would be people that will never have anything bad happen to them, or die for that matter(unless death is a positive). Is this the reality, and my negative vibrations are keeping us from getting there?

Everyone has their own way of looking at it, and as long as each of us is true to our own belief systems, than we will find success!

I like your views on this, very realistic. Kind of brings one back down to earth after having watched ‘the secret’. I must say though that people at all levels seem to be afraid of anything slightly immortal, supernatural and above man kind hence why there is so much criticism on this concept because, let’s face it, it can easily be viewed by some like through this you can have superhero power!

There is nothing new here though. It’s simply being conceptualised and re-birthed via its newly found label (The Secret). What are they telling us when they say “ask, believe, receive”. Does “ask and you shall receive” ring a bell with anyone here? (Uh OH! You’re thinking “bible freak alert”!!) Hear me out

And exactly what is “the energy” or “the universe” as referenced in this movie. Is it not good old God? Call him what you will, but this is simply a revised biblical concept that any religious, in particular christian, believer will immediately grasp and be able to integrate with their beliefs, because it’s exactly the same with the only difference being that you don’t attract things out of no where, they are given you by an all loving, all caring, all giving higher being we call God.

Ask God, Believe that He will provide, and Receive what He provides. That’s what they’re saying. There is no ’secret’ here. And the Law of attraction? Well, seeing that the Man upstairs is of a good rather than an evil nature, of course he will allow good things to come flying at you at the speed of light IF YOU FOCUS, HAVE FAITH, STICK WITH RIGHTOUSNESS.

Believe it! But it’s certainly no secret to me.

That was my goal when I wrote this post – to demonstrate that you don’t have to be a believer in the LOA in order to benefit from the methods. There are positive results to be realized for all!

I have heard of afformations before, and the idea definitely has merit. In my opinion, the biggest failing of affirmations is that if you don’t believe in them, all you are doing is reinforcing the LACK of the thing that you are affirming for.

As you said, it’s all about changing your thinking.

Much obliged for the kind words on this post. I hope that people who either don’t believe or are not sure that they believe will read this article and realize that LOA-type practices are beneficial to believers and non-believers alike!

Once again, you have thoroughly addressed a clear argument for the reality of the Law of Attraction. Ironic to me the opponents seem to unwillingly support the true Law, simply by demonstrating their unwillingness to test it in their own lives. In an effort to prove the Law invalid, simply by not giving it a chance, they provide greater support for it’s truth.
