Many people have said that going back to our childhood hobbies and joys is a great way to find a path in adulthood that will lead to happiness and success. As you indicated, it is often the fear of not being able to make money at something that keeps us from doing it. With today's adult population being more educated than ever on what is possible, perhaps future generations of teens will follow their dreams, rather than following culturally-biased logic! Jessica,

Many people have said that going back to our childhood hobbies and joys is a great way to find a path in adulthood that will lead to happiness and success.

As you indicated, it is often the fear of not being able to make money at something that keeps us from doing it. With today’s adult population being more educated than ever on what is possible, perhaps future generations of teens will follow their dreams, rather than following culturally-biased logic!

As a young teen, I was a dancer and very committed to taking classes and performing. But I couldn't see myself dancing for a living because I had fear about never making enough money to live. I listened to the negative stories about dance more often than I listened to the positive stories about it. If I had learned right thinking back then when I was a teen, I would have turned dancing from a hobby to a dream. Excellent article on telling the difference between dreams and fanciful thinking.
